Vrooomy® at Car-Free Sunday in Hasselt: Kids Back Outside!
On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Vrooomy® was at Car-Free Sunday in Hasselt, a day when the inner ring road and city center were completely car-free. Cyclists, walkers, athletes, and playing children had free rein, while the streets were filled with art and knick-knack stalls, food and drink stands, and cozy corners. It was the perfect opportunity to get children away from screens and indoor activities and back outside!
Electric ride-on cars for outdoor fun
At Vrooomy, the whole day was all about active outdoor play. We had set up a special driving course, a safe ‘mini-city’ with traffic signs and turns, so children could learn steering, maneuvering, and building confidence. Parents could guide their children or even take a ride themselves in the electric car, with the remote control for complete safety.
Our devices were a huge success: children were eager to drive, and most of our cars sold out that day! It was wonderful to see how much fun the children had and how much parents appreciated the quality and safety of our electric kids’ cars.
Outdoor Play VS. Screen Time
Autoloze Sunday perfectly demonstrated how electric ride-on cars can get children off screens and outdoors. In a safe, car-free environment, they could play actively for hours, while simultaneously developing their motor skills, coordination, and decision-making.
Tips for parents to keep children active during holidays and weekends:
- Plan a ride with a Vrooomy 2-seater ride-on car in the garden or on a safe playground.
- Combine outdoor activities with education, such as learning traffic rules or building obstacle courses.
- Create a daily routine of outdoor movement so children spend less time indoors in front of screens.
Sustainability & electric mobility
Besides fun, the day also offered an educational message: children and parents learned how electric vehicles can be environmentally friendly. Our ride-on cars are energy-efficient, run on rechargeable batteries, and show that playtime can also be green.
By letting children experience how electric vehicles work, we make mobility fun, safe, and sustainable. It was inspiring to see how curious children were about how their little cars operate and how they playfully learned to handle technology and energy.
A day to never forget!
The Car-Free Sunday in Hasselt was a great success for Vrooomy. Children had an incredible amount of fun, parents were happy with the safe environment and the quality of our electric ride-on cars, and we were able to actively promote outdoor play in a playful and educational way. The children's enthusiasm made it an unforgettable day, and our vehicles were almost sold out all day long!
